Locate a school or course in your community or nearby town by searching the local phone book, Internet or the International Thai Therapists Association website, which lists schools and institutions that provide training in Thai massage (see Resources below).

Interview the course instructor by asking about his training and background in Thai massage. Determine if the instructor is familiar with the International Thai Therapists Code of Ethics and abides by them. This code of ethics is important--it outlines the expected conduct and skills that therapists must abide by.

Ask about the maximum number of students per class. Thai massage requires interactive participation, and classes with large numbers are discouraged. A maximum of no more than 12 students is recommended.

Inquire about the number of class hours, price and number of techniques that will be covered in class. If certification is desired, inquire about courses toward certification, including number of clinical hours required.
